jardin botanique de l'université de Strasbourg
The Botanical Garden of the University of Strasbourg is a botanical garden founded in 1619 within the former Protestant Academy of the city, two years later became the University of Strasbourg. Its creation by professors of the Faculty of Medicine of Strasbourg is due to the need for training of their students. Originally located in the Krutenau district, he moved in 1884 to the heart of the historic campus in the Neustadt at the back of the university palace after the annexation of Alsace-Lorraine. It is the second oldest botanical garden in France after Montpellier, founded in 1593.
