The Madeleine Church is a Dominican church built in Aix-en-Provence. It was built in 1272 during the Middle Ages. However, it owes its present dispositions to Jean and Laurent Vallon, master masons and the gipier (plâtier) Esprit Ravanas, to whom the preachers entrusted are completely renovated, on July 28, 1691.

It was rebuilt from 1691 to 1703. This square owes its name to the convent of the Preachers near which was erected the church of Sainte-Madeleine, more commonly known as "the church of Madeleine", from 1691 to 1703 by architect Laurent Vallon. Aixese architect Henri Révoil changed the façade from 1855 to 1860.

This building has long been considered the most beautiful church in Bouches-du-Rhône. Emmanuel de Fonscolombe (1810-1875) was one of the most famous chapel masters. The Church of La Madeleine is currently undergoing renovation and stabilization of the building.

The site has been closed to the public since 2006 and should have reopened in 2013, according to the town hall. In September 2020, external work was completed but interior restoration is expected to continue until 2025. It is ranked in the...
