Oppidum de Cordes-Châteloi

The oppidum of Cordes-Châteloi is a fortified Gallic agglomeration attributed to the Civitas of the Bituriges Cubes. This oppidum, of type "barred spur", is located in the commune of Hérisson, in the department of Allier. The site is delimited by two enclosed enclosures, the first delimiting a space of 19 ha, the second bringing the surface of the oppidum to 73 ha, which would make it, in terms of surface one of the most important of the territory of the Bituriges Cubes. Oppidum has been known and occasionally explored since the 16th century.
