pont d'Avignon
The Saint-Bénézet Bridge, commonly known as the Avignon Bridge, is a bridge vestige composed of four residual arches connected to the left bank of the Rhône. It leaves from the north of Avignon in the direction of the department of Gard but no longer makes it possible to get there: from the original bridge long about 900 meters (destroyed in its largest part by the river), there is only 160 meters left. On one of the pillars still present is built the chapel Saint-Bénézet, and above it, the chapel Saint-Nicolas.
