The Réunion Aquarium is a private aquarium located on an artificial island in the centre of the marina of Saint-Gilles les Bains, a seaside resort in the west of Réunion Island. Opened in 2000, it offers visitors a course that begins by presenting the fauna of the lagoon and finally ends on that of the falls. The interactive scenography was designed by French artist Pierre Luu.

The children's visit is marked by the comments of a polyp that acts as a mascot. This aquarium presents more than 700 fish of 180 different species, such as black tip sharks, pastenague rays, leopard sharks, angels and surgeons...
