Arboretum de Balaine

The Arboretum de Balaine is a 20 hectare private botanical and floral park located in the municipality of Villeneuve-sur-Allier (Allier). It combines garden architecture with 19th-century English with collections of exotic essences. Created in 1804 by Aglaé Adanson, daughter of botanist Michel Adanson, he is the oldest private arboretum in France and has always remained in the same family. Ranked a remarkable garden and historic monument, the park has been home to 3,500 species and varieties of plants for 200 years.
