The Béziers arenas are a building built in 1897 in Béziers, with architecture modelled on that of the Spanish arenas, welcoming bullfighting and various shows.
Construction in 1897 at the initiative of Mr.Fayot, former director of the Nîmes arenas with two Dickrian builders and financiers MM. Gleizes and Sautel, in the midst of a period of wine-growing prosperity in the Biterrois. 1898: at the initiative of the patron Castelbon de Beauxhotes, creation of the tragedy Déjanire, created by Camille Saint-Saëns, on a booklet by Louis Gallet. 1900: creation of Prometheus by Gabriel Fauré. 1901 : The creatures of Prometheus by Ludwig van Beethoven. Presented on 25 and 27 August 1901. 1903: Parysatis, drama in three acts and a prologue by Jane Dieulafoy, put into music by Camille Saint-Saëns.
