villa des Grandes Terres
The Villa des Grandes Terres is a Gallo-Roman villa and an archaeological site located in Beynost. In 1999, following the development of the ZAC des Grandes Terres (reconversion of the wasteland of the former supermarket Leclerc then present on the site), nothing of the villa (except a renovated basin) is visible in the years 2010. Thanks to the excavations, the plan and the chronology of the villa were thus established: on the one hand, the pars urbana and on the other hand, the pars rustica.
The villa seems to have been active in the Tiberian era with less activity for the urban pars at the end of the first century. The pars rustica is active until the fourth century.
