basilique Saint-Gervais-Saint-Protais d'Avranches
The Basilica of Saint-Gervais-et-Saint-Protais d'Avranches is a neo-classical Roman Catholic minor basilica erected by Pope Leo XIII, which stands on the territory of the French commune of Avranches, in the department of Manche, in the Normandy region. Following the collapse of St. Andrew's Cathedral in April 1794, the basilica retained an important treasure, including the head of Saint Aubert, bishop of Avranches, who founded Le Mont-Saint-Michel in the eighth century. The building is listed as historical monuments.
