basilique Saint-Régis de Lalouvesc
The Basilica Saint-Régis de Lalouvesc is a Catholic religious building built between 1865 and 1877 in the village of Lalouvesc in the department of Ardèche in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. The basilica houses the relics of Saint Jean-François Régis, the Apostle of Vivarais, who died in Lalouvesc on a parish mission of which he was the preacher. Since 2018, it has also been home to the relics of Saint Thérèse Couderc.
The minor basilica has the particularity of being both a center of pilgrimages and the parish church of the village. Work by Pierre Bossan, architect of Notre-Dame de Fourvière, the building is characterized by its eclectic style combining ancient Greek, Byzantine, Romanesque, Gothic and Moorish influences.
