About

The Amphitheatre of Reims is a Roman amphitheatre built in the first century in the city of Durocortorum designated at the time Augustus as the capital of the province of Gaul Belgium, today Reims in the French department of Marne. This amphitheatre, whose last vestiges in elevation disappear in the mid-19th century, is built north of the ancient city, almost on the edge of the way towards Boulogne-sur-Mer. Its rediscovery in the mid-2000s through urban works makes it possible to set its dimensions to 122 × 100 m but no precision on its architecture can be provided.
