Cap Noir

About

Cap Noir is an apex of Réunion Island, French overseas department and region in the southwest Indian Ocean. Part of the Piton des Neiges massif, it is formed by an angle of the mountainous rampart separating the plateau of the Dos d'Ane, to the north, from the bed of the river of the Galets, which it overlooks, to the south. It is located in the territory of the municipality of La Possession and lies in the heart of the Réunion National Park.

Cape Noir, along with the Maido, is one of the main tourist points of view on the Mafate circus. Equipped like the latter with a parking lot, it is served by a road from the village of Dos d'Âne, the road of Cap Noir. In addition, it is crossed by a great hiking trail, GR R2.
