cathédrale Notre-Dame de Saint-Bertrand-de-Comminges
Notre Dame de Saint-Bertrand-de-Cominges Cathedral, also known as Sainte-Marie Cathedral, is a Catholic cathedral located at the foot of the Pyrenees in the commune of Saint-Bertrand-de-Cominges, in the Haute-Garonne department in the Occitanie region (France). The Cathedral of Notre-Dame de Saint-Bertrand-de-Cominges was the cathedral of the Diocese of Comminges until November 29, 1801, when Pope Pius VII established the bubble that spreads the territory of the Diocese of Comminges between the Archdiocese of Toulouse and the Diocese of Bayonne. The Cathedral of Saint-Étienne in Toulouse became the cathedral of the Archdiocese of Toulouse, where the archbishop sits.
Since 1801, the cathedral has become the parish church of Sainte-Marie. The cathedral is classified as historical monuments by the list of 1840. It has also been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in France since 1998.
