cathédrale Saint-Étienne de Paris
The Saint-Étienne Basilica in Paris was the cathedral of the suffragan bishop of Paris, from the fourth or sixth century until its destruction between 1160 and 1163 and the construction of the present Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris. Consecrated to St Stephen, it was located at the location of the court and the first spans of the present cathedral. Behind St.
Stephen's Cathedral, towards the choir of the present cathedral, was another church dedicated to St. Mary and named Notre-Dame. It was burned during the Norman invasion of 856 and rebuilt around 857 when it became a cathedral.
