The Notre-Dame-de-l'Espérance chapel is located in the centre of La Rochelle between Rue des Augustins and Rue Bazoges. The tridentin rite, also called the extraordinary form of the Roman rite, is practiced there. It belongs to the Priory of Notre-Dame-du-Rosaire de Saint-Germain-de-Prinçay, who is also dependent on the Priestly Fraternity of Saint-Pie-X. The chapel is included in the additional inventory of historical monuments on December 31, 1985, including the altarpiece.
