chapelle Notre-Dame-des-Armées de Versailles
The Notre-Dame-des-Armies Chapel is a Catholic religious building located in Versailles, at the 10th dead end of the Gendarmes. Built in 1877 by Frantz Blondel (1843-1919), the Versailian architect of the Collège Saint-Jean-de-Béthune in Versailles, under the direction of the Eudist Fathers, it served first as the Soldier's Foyer. Roland-Gosselin, bishop of Versailles, entrusted the work of the military to the eudic priests and built a chapel for them. The latter was, until 1967, an integral part of the home and chaplaincy of the French Army, then always led by the Eudists.
