About

The partially ruined Saint-Georges Chapel in Lunas is a pre-Roman Catholic church located in Lunas, in the French department of Hérault and the Occitanie region. This chapel, together with the chapels Saint-Martin-de-Fenoller, Saint-Jérôme d'Argelès, Saint-Michel de Sournia, Saint-Laurent de Moussan, Saint-Nazaire de Roujan and Saint-Pierre de Léneyrac in Ceyras, constitutes a witness to the pre-Roman architecture of the Wisigothic tradition in Septimanie, a region which corresponds to the current regions of Roussillon and Languedoc which have been an integral part of the Wisigothic kingdom of Toulouse (419-507) and the Wisigothic kingdom of Toledo (507-711).
