About

The Château d'Ambérieux-en-Dombes is a former castle, founded in the 12th century by the Sires de Villars, and rebuilt in the 14th century, which stands on the territory of the French commune of Ambérieux-en-Dombes, in the department of Ain, in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. The castle was the centre of the seigneury of Ambérieux and the capital of a chestnutry of the principality of Dombes. The old castle is partially protected from historical monuments.
