Château de Virieu-le-Grand

The castle of Virieu-le-Grand or Château d'Honoré d'Urfé is a former 11th century castle, the centre of the seigneury of Virieu, then the county of Châteauneuf and the Marquisat of Valromey, whose ruins stand on the town of Virieu-le-Grand in the department of Ain in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. The ruins of the castle are listed as historical monuments by order of 8 March 1935.
