Chazeu Castle is located in the municipality of Laizy in Saône-et-Loire, in the Arroux Valley, on the riverside.

Description: The castle is now in ruins. Trees grow in ditches and the yard is just a meadow. The medieval castle was of pentagonal plan ensnaring about half a hectare of surface, with four round towers and a square tower rising at the entrance. At the beginning of the twentieth century, there was still a large square tower to the north. The remains of monumental chimneys date from the time of Chancellor Rolin. One can only imagine the former splendor of the castle thanks to a count made of it, dated August 4, 1684: "The castle said Chaseu consisted of four towers of four floors each: four other towers of two floors each with the bodies of houses between the said towers, a drawbridge at the entrance of the castle, iceluy surrounded by a large ditch filled with water, covered with walls of all costs, a chapel before the said castle with the eases and outbuildings of iceluy.
