Catholic cathedral
cathédrale Saint-Lazare d'Autun
Saint-Lazare Cathedral is a Catholic cathedral located in Autun, in the French department of Saône-et-Loire in the region of Bourgogne-Franche-Comté. At the beginning of the simple pilgrimage church, completed around 1150, it became the cocathedral of the city at the end of the 12th century with the early cathedral dedicated to Saint-Nazaire, before becoming the only cathedral in Autun to demolish the latter. It is the seat of the diocese of Autun.
Although preserving the relics of Saint Lazarus of Aix, it has been since the twelfth century under the invocation and patronage of "Saint Lazarus resurrected by Christ", a patronage confirmed in 1801 by Pius VII in the bubble Qui Christi Domini ("S. Lazari to Christo incitati").
