Château de Labrit

The remains of the château de Labrit, called château d'Albret, are located in the commune of Labrit, in the French department of Landes. Built of land and wood in the years 1225-1230, it constitutes the cradle of the lords of Albret, noble Gascony family which, from there, will extend its influence over the centuries, until the accession to the throne of France of one of his own, King Henry IV. The site is classified by historical monuments on December 27, 1990.
