Château de Lugny

Lugny Castle is located on the territory of the municipality of Lugny in Saône-et-Loire, west of the village and at the foot of the mountain of the Castle overlooking it. What remained of this castle burned in 1789, part of which was the property of Dr.Paul Jacques in the interwar period, was transformed into a private school with boarding school in 1946, at the initiative of Father Joseph Robert (1898-1987), a priest appointed priest-archpriest of Lugny in 1935 and founder of a pastoral community (the Lugny cure had been installed at the castle in 1910). Seventy-nine years later, the school is still partially occupied, becoming the private school group "La Source". Almost all the buildings that make up what remains of the castle are the property of the association "Les Foyers communautaires" founded in December 1946, which has its headquarters (the Maison des Foyers).
