The Château de Montribloud is a former castle raised on a poype by Humbert V de Thoire-Villars in the early 14th century, restored in the 19th century in a neo-classical style, which stands on the commune of Saint-André-de-Corcy in the department of Ain in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. The castle was the center of the seigneury, then of the Barony and finally of Montribloud County.
Location: The château de Montribloud is located in the French department of Ain on the commune of Saint-André-de-Corcy, 3 kilometers south-west of the village, by a road that branches to the west on the departmental road 43, near the pond of Chavalet.
History: The origin of Montribloud is enigmatic: some wanted to make Montribloud drift from "Mons terribilis" and celebrate there the place of the battle in 197 AD between Albin and Septime Sévère fighting to become Roman Emperor. Others see it as a Germanic origin, through some ancient transcriptions noted "Montribloz, Montriblou, Montriblout".
