Château de Montrond

Montrond Castle is located in the French commune of Montrond-les-Bains, in the Loire department. The remains of the castle were inscribed as historical monuments on 13 March 1934 and the entire site (the castle and its surroundings) was inscribed on 22 February 1946. As was also the case for other feudal castles in the Loire department, where there were ruins, such as that of Rochetaillé or that of Essalois in Chambles, the castle of Montrond-les-Bains was partly rebuilt. Since 1999, a medieval festival is organized on the site in August of odd years.
