The Château de Vaucocour, or Château de Vaucocourt, is a French castle located in the commune of Thiviers in the Dordogne department in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region.

Presentation: The castle of Vaucocour is located in the heart of Thiviers, a few tens of meters southeast of the bedside of the church of Notre-Dame de l'Assomption. It's private property.

History: In the 12th century, a castle included in the city's enclosure was built east of the city. It is established on the edge of a escarpment overlooking the Limoges axis - Perigueux and thus allowing to watch him. During the passage of the Huguenots in 1575, both the castle and the city walls were destroyed. The present castle was rebuilt at the end of the 16th century.
