Kagenfels Castle (also Kaguenfels or Kagenburg) is a castle in ruins built in the 13th century in the undivided forest of Obernai and Bernardswiller, in the French commune of Ottrott, in the department of Bas-Rhin.

History: The Kagenfels castle was built by Albrecht Kage (1262), episcopal minister of Bishop Walter von Geroldseck, during the Great Interregne. The castle passed successively to the nobles of Hohenstein, then to Utenheim and Ramstein, who gave it to Lucas Wischbech. Four times, in 1383, 1390, 1397 and 1424, he was abandoned in the early seventeenth century. In 1406, the castle was ravaged by flames because of the negligence of garnishers who took a bath. In the 15th century, the important renovation of the castle required the construction of a sawmill. In 1563 the city of Obernai bought it. Consolidated since 2000 by the Association for the Conservation of Obernois Heritage.
