Church building
collégiale Saint-Martin de Montmorency
The collegiate Saint-Martin de Montmorency is a former 16th-century Gothic collegiate church located in Montmorency, Val-d'Oise, in the Île-de-France region. Built on a rocky spur and preceded by a terrace, it dominates the Montmorency valley. Remarkable for its architectural uniqueness with a sobriety and harmony corresponding to its first role as a burial place of the house of Montmorency, the collegiate is best known for its exceptional series of fourteen Renaissance stained glass windows, which is even distinguished nationally.
Since 1631, one year before the execution of the last connétable Henri II de Montmorency, it also serves as a parish church, and focuses on this unique role after the French Revolution. Like the church of Saint Francis, the former collegiate church welcomed the Catholic faithful of Montmorency and was part of the diocese of Pontoise. Since 2025, his parish priest is Father Roberto Ramos-Pertuz.
