Colonne d’Helfaut

The column or obelisk of Helfaut is a memorial built in memory of the death of the Duke and Prince of Orleans, near Saint-Omer, on the plateau of Helfaut. Rather, it resembles an obelisk on a cubic base. The structure is made of relatively soft limestone stones, probably taken nearby. Very degraded it was restored in the late 1990s.
