Presentation: The Bégonia Conservatory is, in the same way as the Maison de Pierre Loti and the Musée Hebre de Saint-Clément, one of the three municipal museums in Rochefort. It is the largest in Europe in its specialty. The Begonia Conservatory appears as a kind of botanical garden specialized in the conservation of begonias. Located on the edge of the historic heart of the city, being located on the edge of the Charente in a huge horticultural area, this museum-conservatory suffers from a low attendance although it is mentioned in a number of tourist guides such as the Michelin Green Guide and on the site of the Rochefort Ocean tourist office, the Charente-Maritime and Poitou-Charentes.
