The former church of Saint-Jacques de l'Étoile is located in the territory of the commune of L'Étoile, in the department of the Somme between Abbeville and Amiens.

A medieval foundation: Archaeological excavations, conducted in 2000, revealed the foundations of a building that appeared to date back to the 12th century.

Reconstruction in modern times: What remains of the building would date partly from the second half of the seventeenth century and partly from the beginning of the eighteenth century. The two most easterly spans of the nave would constitute the oldest part of the building; the installation of a pavement in the nave is mentioned in 1668. The Epitaph of Christmas Groulle, parish priest of the Star between 1720 and 1724, mentions that during this period, "The choir was rebuilt, and the Bans(?) arran[edit]". In the middle of the 18th century, the liturgical space proved too small, the chorus was enlarged by depriving the nave of a span. The nave was enlarged from 7.30 m westward in 1750. The bell tower was reportedly built around 1760.
