Le Don Camilo is a cabaret founded in 1953 by Jean Vergnes. It is located in the 7th arrondissement of Paris in the district of Saint-Germain-des-Prés. Every night of the week, a dinner show is organized.
The animation is carried out by many artists who, very often, made themselves known in this showroom. These artists are usually singers, imitators, humorists, cartoonists, songwriters or ventriloquists. They follow each other on stage at a fast pace (about every twenty minutes), except the artist-vedette who performs more at the end of the meal.
Contrary to what is often read or heard, the cabaret on Rue des Saints-Pères is written and pronounced the "Don Camilo", with only one "L", and not "Don Camillo". On December 16, 2023, the cabaret closed.
