About

Saint-Sylvestre-et-Sainte-Colombe de Colombiers is a Romanesque church located in Colombiers, in the French department of Hérault and the Occitanie region. A first place of worship was built here on the hill near the ancient dirt road that preceded the Domitian way. Its precise date of implantation is unknown, probably in the Paleo-Christian era.

The church went through three periods: paleo-Christian (wisigothic), Romanesque and modern, without ever being abandoned as a place of worship. It has undergone many changes, especially in the nineteenth century. In 1987, under the passionate impulse of Father Itié, priest of the parish, with the material and financial participation of the municipality and that of volunteers, the building was released from its numerous additions to regain the simplicity and unity of a place conducive to meditation.
