About

The Fanum d'Aron is a Roman temple located in Aurillac, France. This temple of the High Roman Empire is probably built in the 1st century AD and abandoned 3rd or 4th century. It is remarkable for its 16-sided polygonal plan (cella and peripheral gallery).

The temple is part of a cult complex possibly linked to a nearby source. Its remains were discovered in 1977, immediately excavated in the urgency of an urbanization operation and listed as a historic monument in 1980. They are highlighted in a public garden.
