cimetière britannique de Bray Hill
The Bray Hill British Cemetery is a First World War military cemetery in the municipality of Bray-sur-Somme, Somme department, northeast of Amiens.
Location: This military cemetery is located in the countryside north of the commune, on the D 329 towards Fricourt about 2 km from the village.
Bray-sur-Somme again fell into German hands in March 1918, but the village was taken over by the 40th Australian Battalion on 24 August. The British cemetery in Bray Hill was built on August 31, 1918 by the 58th (London) Division, which had taken part in the Corbie advance. The original cemetery contained 41 graves but was enlarged after the armistice when graves were brought from the battlefields of March and August 1918, between Bray and Fricourt. It now includes 104 graves of the First World War, 32 of which are unidentified.
Characteristics: This cemetery has a rectangular plan of 15 m by 30. It's surrounded by a brick wall. It was designed by AJS Hutton.
