grotte du Vallonnet
The Vallonnet Cave is a prehistoric site located in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, between Monaco and Menton, in the Alpes-Maritimes, France. It was discovered in 1958. Oldowayen tools dating back 1.15 million years have been discovered, making them one of the oldest prehistoric sites in France, with the Bois-de-Riquet site in Lézignan-la-Cèbe (Hérault), and two Berry sites in Lunery-Rosières (Cher) and Eguzon-Chantôme (Indre), all dated more than a million years.
