Bayonet Trench

The bayonets trench is a memorial to the Battle of Verdun in 1916, located on the communal ban of Douaumont-Vaux (Meuse). It is one of the myths of World War I, with Pericard's "Standing the Dead!". The site was listed as a historic monument in 1922 and was recognized as a national memorial site in March 2014. On 20 September 2023, he was one of 139 World War I memorial and funeral sites listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site during the 45th session of the World Heritage Committee.
