Montorcier
Montorcier is a former seigneury whose seat was in the Upper Fieldsaur. The dolphins of Vienna established a sumptuous castle, which the royal dolphin Louis II, future Louis XI of France, frequented assiduously. Montorcier is the francization of Mons Orsierus (the bear mountain), a former name of a hill that dominates the Drac valley downstream of the confluence of Black and White Drac, at the height of the present village of Pont-du-Fossé. This hill is now called Frustelle, or Frustel, and has only a few ruins.
