The Wall for Peace is a monument erected in March 2000 in front of the Military School, on the Champ-de-Mars, in the 7th arrondissement of Paris, and dismantled in June 2020 after years of protest by the residents. Since then, the new building of this monument on the avenue de Breteuil has been the subject of controversy. Directed by artist Clara Halter and architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte, her goal is to celebrate Peace, by displaying this word in a large number of languages and by allowing messages of peace to be inserted there, in the image of the Wall of Lamentations of Jerusalem.
