musée Courbet
The Courbet Museum, dedicated to the work of the painter Gustave Courbet, is located in the French commune of Ornans, in the Doubs department. Created in 1971 by Robert Fernier in the Hôtel Hébert, home of Gustave Courbet, the museum became property of the Doubs department in 1976. It was completely renovated and enlarged between 2008 and 2011 and annexed the house Borel and Hotel Champereux, bringing its surface to more than 2,000 m2 including 1,000 m2 and 21 permanent and temporary exhibition rooms.
