The Masséna Museum is a municipal museum of the city of Nice located in one of the last prestigious villas of the nineteenth century of the promenade of the English. The prince of Essling, Duke of Rivoli, André Prosper Victor Eugène Napoléon Masséna, son of Victor Masséna, sold this jewel of the Belle Époque built by his father, to the city of Nice in 1919, for a price equal to the inheritance rights he had to pay, stipulating that the garden should be open to the public, and that the villa should become a museum of local history under the name of "Museum Masséna". What was done.
The groves are signed by botanist Edward André. The reception of the public is carried out, to the north of the building, by a pavilion located at number 65 of the rue de France.
