The Centenary monument of the Nice to France meeting, by André-Joseph Alllar, was inaugurated on 4 March 1896 at the Albert-Ier Garden. He celebrated the centenary of Nice's attachment to France in 1793. The bronze statue represents a winged victory that takes the oath of loyalty. The marble group is an allegory of Nice giving itself to France.
