The Museum of Art and Archaeology of Valencia is a museum of the city of Valencia (Drôme) located in 4 Place des Ormeaux, opposite the Cathedral of Saint-Apollinaire in the district of Old Valencia. Its collections, rich in more than 20,000 works, offer a wide panorama of local history and Western arts, from regional prehistory to contemporary art. The museum has two sections: the Archaeology section traces the history of societies that have lived in the middle Rhône valley, from modern periods up to prehistoric times; The Art section brings together paintings, drawings, sculptures and decorative arts. The building also houses a library of nearly 10,000 books and journals specializing in art and archaeology.
