About

The Aviation Beginnings Museum is a museum of history located in Douzy (Ardennes), on the Sedan - Douzy airfield, road of Mouzon. It traces the beginnings of the history of aviation, and in particular, the quite exceptional contribution of Roger Sommer, one of the men behind the French aviation and aviation industry. Roger Sommer was the first Frenchman to capture the world record for flight time created by the American airmen Orville and Wilbur Wright.

This competition around flight duration, beyond its symbolic value, was decisive in the evolution of aviation. Other pilots and exploits are also presented.
