About

The Palace of the Dukes of Lorraine – Lorrain Museum was founded in Nancy in 1850 on the initiative of the Lorrain Archaeology Society (now the Lorraine History Society and the Lorraine Museum) and installed in a set of three sites classified as historical monuments. It includes the Ducal Palace and its garden, all Cordeliers (church and convent), and the Government Palace. His collections include more than 155,000 works with a wide variety of typologies illustrating Lorraine's history and heritage from prehistory to contemporary times.

Musée Lorrain

Together with the Musée de l'École de Nancy and the Musée des Beaux-Arts, it is one of three municipal museums, which have been held in a joint department since 2017. Engaged in a major renovation project, the Ducal Palace closed its doors to the public in 2018, with the Cordeliers church still open for the visit. The gradual reopening of museum spaces is planned from 2029 onwards.
