Ouvrage Einseling

The Einseling building is a monobloc fortified structure on the Maginot line located in the fortified area of Faulquemont, between the municipalities of Bambiderstroff and Longeville-lès-Saint-Avold. Its name originates from the Finselingerberg hill on which it is built. At the time of its projection by CORF in the 1930s, the army used old German maps where annotations in Gothic writing were misinterpreted: the F of Finseling turned into E.
