About

The Haute-Touche Zoological Reserve is a French zoological park and wildlife breeding centre of the National Museum of Natural History, located in the northwest of the Brenne Regional Natural Park, in the Centre-Val de Loire region, in Indre, on horseback to the communes of Azay-le-Ferron (southeastern part) and Oberre (northwestern part). This reserve of 436 hectares of forests and meadows dotted with ponds, is one of the five largest zoological parks in France, of which about 100 hectares are open to the public. It has nearly 120 species, some of which are rare, such as Eld's deer, dhole, sambar deer, Duvaucel deer, pig deer, addax, timneh parrot or Nubie bouquetin.
