The Bird Park is a zoological park located in Villars-les-Dombes in the department of Ain. The site is listed in the General Inventory of Cultural Heritage and was opened in 1970. It is one of France's oldest bird parks and a collection of more than 3,000 birds from around the world in a 380 hectare reserve located in the heart of the Dombes.
The park, open to the public, covers an area of 35 hectares within the reserve and hosts an average of 250,000 visitors per year. The park is a member of the European Association of Zoos and Aquariums (EAZA) and the Association française des parcs zoologiques (AFdPZ), and participates in some 15 European breeding programmes for the conservation and reintroduction of endangered species. He is also a member of the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums (WAZA).
