parc départemental de la boucle de Montesson
The Parc départemental de la loope de Montesson is a public green space located in Montesson in the Yvelines, on the banks of the Seine. This park was built by the Yvelines General Council from 1997 in the former Borde estate acquired in 1992. It was designed by landscape designer François Brun.
The park is expected to extend over 130 hectares at the western end of the Montesson Plain. It currently consists of two parts: the Borde estate, a two-hectare public garden, which houses a collection of trees and in which the "Park House" has been built, and the Épinoche pond, a 16.7-hectare natural space. It is a former sandstone, owned by the municipality of Montesson, which is listed as a natural area of ecological, faunistic and floral interest (ZNIEFF).
The park is also classified as a sensitive natural area by the department. The playgrounds evoke the birds that the pond houses in large numbers. A sheltered platform allows observation.
