The access bridge to the Chavanon area was built in 2002 on the A89 motorway near Merlines to allow access to the Chavanon area, near the Chavanon viaduct. This work built in 2001 has the particularity of being one of the few bridges using wood as structural material in France.

The five wooden ribs support a non-participating reinforced concrete pavement.
